i will admit that I did enjoy some of these stories and the means behind them. the humor in them was great and the details of them was amazing for them being so short. but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Read Harder 2017 challenge: Read a collection of stories by a woman.

This reminded me a little of the experience of reading A Softer World. Not quite sure what to make of this one. I suspect it would facilitate an interesting discussion in a group setting. But since I read it by myself, and not in the context of a book club, I will have to ponder the concept of God adopting a tortoise all by myself.

Odd book. Found it difficult to read and make sense of.

I received my copy as part of my Powell's book subscription and was pleasantly surprised by this bizarre little book (with one of the best covers ever). Filled with quick glimpses into people's lives, this collection reminded me of [a:Alice Munro|6410|Alice Munro|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1245100102p2/6410.jpg], but briefer. I expect this book will have a varied effect on readers due to it's complex absurdities, but it's one to check out.

Ik vond hem/haar/die niet. En de zoektocht was vervelend.
Maar dat heb je dan met die ultrakorte stukjes, je wordt verleid om dan het volgende toch maar te lezen, want wie weet. Maar nee.
