I liked every one of these stories.

I would suggest reading each story in its place as you make your way through the Expanse series, but you do you.

A bunch of short stories that fit in between the longer Expanse book. They range from quite good (3stars) to very good (5 stars). But all of them contain the readability combined with just enough depth that made the Expanse such a good book. Best story is Strange dogs.

I really enjoyed a lot of these short stories, and I feel like some are very important and critical to the story. You absolutely should look up the reading order for these with the books! They just add so much to the series.

I will forever love The Expanse universe. The technicality and world building combined with the utter humanness of the characters is what sci fi can be at its best.

A quote from the last author’s note sums it up: “One of the central arguments we’ve made with these stories is that, when you look at history, you see the same kind of people doing the same stupid, selfish, delusional, gorgeous, kind, astonishing things that we do today. And we’ll keep doing the same, as long as the species survives. Technical knowledge advances. The organism stays the same.”
