Bookriot Read Harder Challenge #23: A Self-published book

When I saw that a self-published book was on the menu for the Bookriot Challenge, I was most disgruntled: as a rule, I avoid anything self-published like the plague.

I'm happy to say, I found a way around it! A cute comic about the plight of interns working for robo-companies. It counts as self-published because the author co-founded the publisher.

I really enjoyed this little story about Onion & his fellow interns. They work for a big company in the hope of one day getting paid for their efforts. When the employees go off on their annual retreat, the interns are left to hold the fort.

The art is simple, but manages to give the characters great expression. It's funny, flows well and has a heartwarming underdog story beneath it's surface.

It gets a cheerful 3 stars from me.
