Not sure if that was good but at least it was interesting if a bit annoying. Definitely better than the first book. There are amounts where I cared at least a little about the characters. And Eddie on the airplane and Eddie in the drug lord's office were both pretty good vignettes. But the plot still feels like an accident. And I'm definitely not blown away with this as a work of brilliance.

The second installment of The Dark Tower series is much better than the first. I loved how Stephen King was able to bring more characters into Roland's world and by doing so you can see the character of Roland, the last gunslinger, develop. This was the second time around that I have read this book and I only remembered bits and pieces of this book. The lobstrosities at the beginning that take part of Roland's hand, that somehow Roland entered our world in New York and had a shoot out with a Mob boss (ended up being a drug dealer) and that the other character had no legs right above the knee. There was much more that I forgot and was very pleased with what I read.

I heard someone describe this book as a neat idea in search of a plot, and I think that sums this up perfectly.

I really enjoyed the first part of this book but the second and third left something to be desired. Way better than the first book though

Well, let's just say that I don't think I'm going to continue with this series. I like Stephen King's writing, but this story just isn't doing it for me...
