Ms. Galenorn is at it again with this series.

As a long time fan of her work, I was excited when she first announced this series, featuring an eclectic cast of characters in a charming town. I. AM. HOOKED.

Maddy has a problem, and its taking more than her own witchy powers to solve it. Someone, or something, has decided to turn her world upside down. Her trusted cjinn companion, Bubba, gets turned into a bewildered, yet incredibly handsome, human. Her boyfriend, the vampire Aegis, gets stuck in bat form. And when it just can't seem to get worse... Money gets stolen from her bank account.

I love how this book dives more into the town and the history of the characters. All the details fill in the blanks without becoming dry or dull. This will definitely go on my shelf to be read again.

This is the second book in the Bewitching Bedlam series, and it was just as good, if not better than, the first book and the prequel. Maddy ends up dealing with some really bad juju in this installment which brings lots of drama to her household, as well as a nasty vampire problem. She handles it awesomely and ends up fixing another problem in the process. The romance element is also escalating with each new story; I can't wait to see where Maddy and Aegis end up. What I'm really excited for though is seeing Maddy come into her leadership of the Moonrise Coven. She's kind of been skating by and flying under the radar, but she has the potential to become a pillar of her community and a super effective coven leader! For all the power and ferocity in her past, she seems to still need a boost to step into the spotlight! I can't wait for the next book in this series to continue the story! All in all, if you want a sexy, exciting, action packed urban fantasy full of magic and girl power, Yasmine is the author for you, and Bewitching Bedlam definitely fits the bill!

Maudlin’s Mayhem by Yasmine Galenorn, is book two in her Bewitching Bedlam series. In Maudlin’s Mayhem we are reunited with Maddy, Sandy, Aegis and Bubba. Things at the Bewitching Bedlam bed and breakfast start off well but chaos quickly descends. Maddy’s bank account gets hijacked first, and of course dealing with the bank for their part in the fiasco is no walk in the park. Then Bubba ends up turning into a very delicious but very insecure human and honestly isn’t handling it well. Maddy manages to literally run into Snow White and her and the seven dwarves end up staying at the Bewitching Bedlam. Things only proceed to get worse when Aegis ends up stuck in his bat form. There is a lot going on and Maddy now needs to figure out what is going on in her life. Someone has cursed her and it’s affecting those around her. Things don’t get any better when her new employee not only ends up dead but Maddy learns he had a strong connection with the vampire queen, Essie. Trouble and danger has descended on Maddy and her B &B and she must quickly find a way to get rid of it before it kills again.
Maudlin’s Mayhem engages right from the beginning which I absolutely love from a story. All seems well but then chaos begins cropping up all around her. The author does such a great job weaving this story. There are twists and turns and several surprises that pop up at the right moments. This book is so hard to put down and every time that I had to I was more than eager to pick it back up and continue reading. I loved the surprise moments in certain scenes of this story. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. This story is full of such great characters and I absolutely love them.
There isn’t anything that I didn’t like about this book. The characters are so real and very well done. I like that we are seeing different sides of a couple of the characters which really adds to the depth of the story and makes me really excited to read what happens next in this series.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed it so much. I can tell that the author really enjoyed writing this book because of how well it flows. It’s very well done and if you are a fan of Yasmine Galenorn’s work then you will most definitely enjoy this book as well. So grab a copy and get reading today!

Love the series!

These are excellent books. The characters are entertaining. The plots well developed and once I get started I can't stop reading. If you are looking for a fun series with mystery, romance, laughs, and a paranormal flair then look no further!

The Bewitching Bedlam series is an enjoyable, but lackluster read. The world building is superb (as I have found with the one other series I've read by Yasmine Galenorn), but the characters are very 2 dimensional. Maudlin, or Maddie, as she is known in this century, can be rather abrasive to the point of being unlikeable. The plot line was rushed, so much that the conclusion to the mystery didn't even move the overall plot of the series forward.

Hopefully the next one is better, and worth the $4.99 price point. (I know she's an established author who is self publishing now, but $4.99 for just over 200 pages is pricey).
