Fun!

Read this ages ago, and now re-read it. David and Ev's story is sweet. David and Evelyn did the crazy thing, meeting during a drunken night in Las Vegas and getting married by an Elvis impersonator. The problem was that the next morning Evelyn has the mother of all hangovers and doesn't remember a thing, not even meeting David. David is the guitarist in the famous rock star Dive, but Evelyn prefers country. With suck a rocky start, they have a wonderful rocky story, with separations, family strife, an ex-girlfriend who didn't want to let go, and lots of feeling. Great story!

I'll read the others in the series but this just wasn't that special. I'm pretty sure I won't remember it in a day or two.

I think this was the first contemporary romance I ever read (yeah... I mostly read mysteries & genre fiction before that). Re-reading it during the COVID pandemic to see if I like it as much as I did originally. And I did.

Waking up married to a rockstar?
I'm so on board with this trope.

Evelyn celebrates her birthday in Vegas and wakes up the next morning with no memory of the previous night.
When she finds out that she is married to a stranger, she immediately wants the divorce. And when it turns out that her husband is a rock star, her well-planned life really gets out of hand.

I enjoyed the beginning of the book as it had a lot of potential. Innocent girl marries famous rock star despite not even knowing who he is.
At some point, though, things got a little too confusing for me. I couldn't really follow the story anymore because Evelyn's thoughts and feelings were a constant back and forth. Unfortunately I didn't like that at all. There was no gripping plot twist for me either, and the arc of suspense was very weak.
The ending was alright as well, although it was pretty predictable.

The supporting characters were okay, but just like the two protagonists, they could have been developed better.

All in all, this book wasn't for me. A good start with a weak development and a predictable end.
