It got arduous towards the end, repeating the same bits of information over and over again. Unlike the other le Carre books I love so much, there is no 'clever knot' present in the storyline.

Audio version: This was my first le Carré novel and I would definitely read another if the plot interests me. While I’m pretty distracted lately in my listening, even when I missed a bit, I would just keep listening and never got bored. Probably a bit lost, but not bored. I didn’t need all the details, as I knew I was going to watch the movie next. And they did a great job with the movie.

A masterful novel, a deeply felt story of character slowly unfolding. He makes you work but it makes it worth it.

I really liked le Carré when I read him when I was younger. Now I just find his work uninteresting and unimportant.

What a great read! Le Carré takes on Big Pharma, government agencies, and a whole lot of other things corrupt, and he does so without sugarcoating it with the ‘justice is served’ ending that Hollywood tacked onto an otherwise excellent adaptation. I thought the movie was wonderful, but it pales into insignificance when placed next to this.

Superb novel and thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. My first time reading any John LeCarre but not my last.

Riveting read with great characters, both in terms of good and evil. I absolutely detested all the Male suits except Justin and Donohoe.

Although this is fiction no doubt what it describes is unfortunately a reality for many around the world.

Very thought provoking and eye opening. I'm looking forward to reading more by the author.

What can I say about this book that would do it justice? A true masterpiece.
