I liked it. I have already downloaded the second audiobook in the series.
Ursula is smart and plucky and determined. What's not to like?

Mostly this was a very good book. There was one scene however, right after the main character got married, that went into way too much detail. I really wish it had not been in there.

If you love anything about the Tudor time period, definitely check this series out! I love how Ursula interacts with so many of Elizabeth's inner circle. The narrator for the audiobook is particularly good at bringing this book to life. I also enjoyed her developing romance/courtship with Mathew.

Very bleh, a little too soap opera-ish, and while I do kind of like the main character, the overall plot does not have any spice.

This seemed anchored in historical accuracy and gave me cause to want to read more in the series.

An enjoyable mystery set in the court of Queen Elizabeth I. Ursula Blanchard is believable and intriguing. I enjoyed the court interactions and her quick grasp of situations. I look forward to reading the next in the series.
