I enjoyed this book, despite what others said about it being slow or boring compared to the rest of the series. It was a fun beginning to what has become one of my favorite series ever.

It was a little hard to get into at first but for sure picked up towards the middle. The mystery is very good and keeps the feeling very tense. There was a moment during the main climax that had such incredible, edge of your seat writing. I’m a little irritated with how the romance route is going but shoot I have 7 more books to get a satisfying romance lol.

I'm going to be honest I expected better. This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't really good either. Knowing that SJM tends to write pretty mid first books in her series, I'll read the second one, hoping it gets better.
