This was my first MM novel and, despite hesitations at the beginning, I am glad I read through to the end. I can see why others all fell for Sebastian in the end, I wanted to dislike him at the beginning but by the end of the book he was my favourite!

This is a duet and the ending has me desperate to find out what happens next.

Wow this book is hard to put down. Dixon is trying to make it to the NFL to take care of his mom. Sebastian is the alpha male of the team and he has is own problem. Dixon and Sebastian story is full of angst and twist and turns. The ending leaves you screaming no. And makes you excited for book two. I can't wait to read it.

Blue 42 is the first book in the Hail Mary duet. This book is told from dual perspectives by Dixon and Sebastian. This book is M/M.

Dixon has lived in a rough neighborhood and he will do whatever he can to get his mother and younger brother out of there. He plays football and got recruited to the Bills. His first week there he runs into Sebastian, and Sebastian does not like him.

We learn that Sebastian had a rough past too. He thinks Dixon has had a sheltered life. Neither Sebastian nor Dixon are into males, but they both start to have feelings for each other, and question what they are into.

Secrets about both of their pasts come out, and something happens to Dixon. When Sebastian shows up, their bond grows. As it is a duet it ends with something happening.

Will Dixon and Sebastian's feelings grow, or will something happen to tear them apart?

I really loved this book, and getting to know these two characters. I am excited to see what happens next!

I am not sure where to really start. Dixon is fresh out of college drafted into the NFL, Sebastian is a veteran on the team. I don't really know that I would classify this as a "romance" per say, it was more like two tornados of personality kept clashing together. There is really no love lost between the two main characters, they have an attraction to each other that the both reluctantly explore all while repeating over and over again that they "aren't gay". The cliffhanger was good, if I was able to connect with the characters it definitely would have drawn me in to be anxious for the next books however I personally just couldn't connect with the main characters. Give it a go, see what you think!

I'm not sure what to think after finishing Dixon and Sebastian's story. It wasn't really a romance, but more along the lines of two troubled souls clashing together in a passionate twist of wills, expectations, experiences, and self-discovery. It was raw and powerful. A descriptive and honest Enemies to (almost) Lovers MM romance that was truly well written and unique.

A veteran football player and the new rookie. Two men who have never been attracted to other males but who quickly find themselves obsessed with each other. Their interactions were equally heavy with anger and lust and that chemistry was intense. VERY well written. Add in the depth of football plays and team rivalry/camaraderie and this story just flowed SO well.

But I also think this story will be it's best at completion. For the first part, I really, REALLY liked it. But I'm sure when their story concludes I'm going to LOVE it. After the cliffhanger I'm just on this side of desperation for their conclusion.

I rarely read sports romances, but holy hell! Chrissy!!! Dixon and Sebastian have so much chemistry and there's a TON of angst between the two of them. I love that this book is a story of finding yourself when you least expect it.

This book had me all up in my feels. I was not expecting some of the things that happened. I was also thrown for a loop with a few of the wtf moments that were shoved in my face.

Blue 42 has quite a few dark elements to it. Please heed the triggers going in. There's a few instances of dub con and non con. I can't wait to read Red Zone and find out what happens next. I was not expecting the end to end the way it did and I need answers.

I finished this one a few days ago and I am just now writing my review because I need time to process! C.A. Rene seriously has this amazing way she tells her stories. There is so many emotions that you go through while reading this masterpiece. If dark and I mean dark and angsty is your jammm then you are going to love Blue 42!

Our bad boy Seb lord help me I wanted to hate him but he just wiggled his ass into my heart! He has this hard exteriors that seems impenetrable. Our boy is like an onion and has so many layers that we need to peel back until we get to his amazing heart. Dixon is a sweet soul that is just trying to make a better life for himself and his family… These two meet and there is definite hate. This being a true enemies to lovers romance honestly I don’t even know if we have made it to lover yet more like hate hate f*ck!

We are left with that epic cliffy and seriously has me begging for more of Seb and Dixon. CA Rene seriously ripped my heart out threw it on the ground and stomped on it and now I am ready for her put me back together!! 100% recommend!!!
