This is the book that made Aidan decide he didn’t want me to read aloud to him anymore. He is 11.

Hasn't aged as well as the first two books in the series IMO.

It's kind of a retread of the first book with a little bit of the 80s crack epidemic and reganomics commentary spliced into it. It's not as evergreen as the other books.

Not bad but definitely still not my favorite. Back to some of the droning style of the first book. Weird character development with
Arren becoming the king. I didn't feel like he grew into the role even though he saved the world?
