this almost felt like a cozy mystery? this was very different than Christie’s other books imo. it felt kinda like a caricature of a christie book? it was still pretty entertaining and the two main characters were very fun

Book eighteen of my personal read through of Agatha Christie in (American) publication order!

I had a bit of a reading slump in the middle of this one, so it took  me much longer than usual to finish, but I don't think that's the fault of the book, just general life circumstances.

I found the characters especially fun, and remembered part of the solution from reading it in my teens, but was still surprised by all the ins and outs of the plot resolution. I'd be interested to read this again when I'm a bit more focused and see if I might want to bump up the rating...

Knowing Hugh Laurie likes this one may have biased me, but it was also just fun having the same author voice with new characters. Always some old fashioned ick, but this one was a good ride.

I think Frankie was a very fun character, her friendship with Bobby was also quite nice. Overall I really enjoyed the different relationship dynamics in this. Unfortunately there were a lot of of its time elements in this which is one of the main reasons why I didn't give this a higher rating. I liked the twist although it was easy to guess. It was just fun and enjoyable.
