This is my first book by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more from her. I could not put this book down. Teddy & Sutton’s story definitely pulled on my heart strings while reading.
Sutton and Teddy met at seventeen and their connection was instant. There were obstacles and dreams in their way. The song that she wrote about Teddy launched her to music career. Now, eight years later they find themselves thrown back together.
I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.

I always feel bad giving such a low rating but I just couldn't connect with this! I felt that I had to force myself to read it.
I didn't feel any connection between the main characters. I think it might have benefited from having more scenes of when they were friends of just the two of them in the flashbacks and then maybe I would've connected with them more.

I was a little worried when I started this second chance romance. Second chance romances tend to have a lot of flashbacks, which I hate, and I knew this book had them. I've been really loving this author's books lately, so I decided to give it a go anyways. The flashbacks didn't bother me in this book. Sutton and Teddy's story was entertaining enough in both timelines to keep me interested. Plus, I wanted to know everything I could about these two. I loved the push and pull of their attraction and Sutton's reasons for not getting involved. I loved the whole popstar and small-town guy thing they had going on. This was a messy and sweet romance. I'm happy I read it.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t attach that to the main characters and the couple. The plot is such a fantastic idea, and I still had so much fun and enjoyed myself reading — I honestly can’t pinpoint what made me not get that involved with them. Though I feel like the whole stepsister dilemma dragged on more than I’d liked, which impacted my enjoyment of the story.
The last two chapters were the absolute highlight; this book couldn’t have ended well, which made me so happy. Sutton’s scene with her dad was the only one that made me shed a few tears, and that’s an example of how perfect those last few moments were.
All of C.W. Farnsworth follow the same formula. FMC feels alone in the world due to her struggle, and the one person who doesn’t is the MMC. The only changes are the location, the trope, and the characters’ names. So this one is probably my least favorite by this author, and it was still okay. This was one of her first books, so I can see how far she's come. But it felt like it was missing some of that terrific chemistry in the rest of C.W. Farnsworth's book.
