Man. I wanted to like this one so much. And I appreciated the setting, the science integrated in it and the commentary on standardized testing. But. I could not get into this. It was like reading The Love Hypothesis all over again, but I was less invested.

She just keeps getting better!! This novel, though still cheesy at times, was 100x better than The Love Hypothesis, IMHO.

The main characters were lovable, quirky, and realistic. The plot was somewhat tropey but to its advantage. Hazelwood’s writing style is so fun, and it’s easy to be along for the ride. Can’t wait to see what she cooks up next!

I'm beginning to think Ali Hazelwood is going to be one of my go-to authors. I loved this book so much! I adored Bee and Levi so much, both together and individually. The banter was hilarious and there were so many details I enjoyed about this book, such as Star Wars references, cats, the WWMD twitter page-- literally SO good and I never wanted to put it down! It didn't quite hit five stars for me because I was confused fairly often throughout because there are *so many* science/neuroscience/NASA references that I just simply do not understand lol. I found myself googling every now and then to look up a specific word or person mentioned. Other than that bit, I loved this and totally recommend!

I really enjoyed reading this book!
I loved the characters, the plot was great and the setting was very different from the usual STEM books.
I think it was written really well and it was easy to follow, coming from someone who usually struggles to keep up with all the sciency stuff. The ONE thing that annoys me so much about romance books is when the guy is constantly described as being so large and manly and the female main character is petite and overshadowed by him. Like come on, he’s not the Incredible Hulk.
I did have really high hopes after reading The Love Hypothesis and I have to say this book lived up to them. I loved Bee’s character and Levi is up there with Adam on my book boyfriend list. I loved the supporting characters too; Ro and Reike were amazing.
The only negative point I have about this book is that it was slightly predictable from the start. I’m not sure if this was intentional or not.
SpoilerFor example, when Bee was chatting online to that account on Twitter, it was so so obvious that it was Levi. Another thing that was predictable was that Guy was going to turn out to be the villain. The way he was constantly being described as the nice guy and how lovely and kind he was, kinda made it obvious that there was something suspicious about him. Lastly, I knew that Rocio and Kaylee would end up together. The way she so passionately ‘hated’ her was a big enemies to lovers hint lmao.

Overall I’d say both Love On The Brain and The Love Hypothesis were great romance books and I’m looking forward to reading more from Ali Hazelwood!
