What in the Shadyside nonsense was this?! Less teen murderers so that was nice but also very concerning the amount of weird shit going on in these books.

Also these were written in the 90s so trigger warnings who, but for those who care TW for animal death.

Really good except for the middle (where I kinda got bored).

*read as part of Fear Street: The Beginning*

Trigger Warning ⚠️

A dog is killed by a character in this book. It died it on page, in a pretty detailed way. I would never have expected that in a middle grade/ya book, much less an RL Stine book, so it kinda slapped me in the face with it. I’m just warning others because I didn’t see anything mentioned about that.

I like it, was very good and fast read. I loved the setting of the story and the creepiness.
the ending wasn't my favorite but still enjoy it

I have a few points to make here. Overall, decent spooky read, especially for the target audience of young teens. With that being said, Cara, one of the protagonists, seems to have a major crush on her brother! The way Cara reads is not sisterly, and I've never met a girl who thinks so much about her brother's "nice broad shoulders" or "pretty eyes." At least not that she admits, but I've definitely never thought about my brother that way.

The twist at the end was a bit too twisty for my liking, which is something I rarely say. I don't think it was foreshadowed enough to not just seem... forced? I'm sure that's partially due the fact that the target audience doesn't need hundreds of pages of foreshadowing to be shocked, and that there is a heavier suspension of disbelief with that age group. Regardless, I think this would have been really awesome if it were fleshed out a bit more.
