“My game must be off if the first thought I have about him doing a good deed is feel me up, you rich, sexy trash man.”

I might not be the biggest fan of the spicy romance genre. but once in a while I drown myself in love-sickness and require something that would make me feel like I’m not the most toxic person in the entire world.

well, thanks Kels and Denise Stone for Luca, the most obnoxious and narcissistic guy I’ve ever read about… until I might have developed feelings for him?

broken men is my hobby, picking them up from the ground, gluing them together, getting rid of their want to hurt me and then letting them go. which I hoped what would’ve happened at the end of this book.

Avery is hoping to get a position at ORO company, which is her lifelong dream. she is an ambitious, career-driven individual whose purpose is to save our planet Earth and its habitat. as usual, a sexy but ignorant man named Luca Navarro (it’s pronounced Navarro, not Navaroe) gets in the way. and it’s not that he’s going around littering the planet (or was he in the past?). he’s just not letting her to get a job (as Ave thought).

they bump heads every now then, meeting each other at the “most random places”. which is absurd and not surprising at all, considering the fact that the ecology society is not the most popular one, unfortunately, and doesn’t include that many people.

while slowly developing feelings behind the closed doors, our lovely couple makes trying to argue the shit out of each other their First Amendment every time they’re at the same event.

and I don’t even know who is more stubborn: them or my will to finally finish this book. and preferably never date ecologists in tailored suits.

oh the feminine urge to feel sorry for a man twice your age… I give up on trying to rationalise my feelings and admit that Luca Navarro (not Navaroe) is not the worst man on the entire planet.

and then surprise-surprise!! Avery and Luca get to work together and his whole demeanour just starts stressing me out.

that’s when this book won over my stubbornness, and I put it away for the greater good.

in conclusion:
save the turtles, fuck Luca Navaroe.

“You and me, Ave, is so much better than you versus me.”

This was so cute! And the rivals in the workplace was so well done! I was so on edge and I couldn't put it down because of how badly I needed to witness the two MCs getting together.
The spice and romance was on point but I was also interested in the plot surrounding ORO. I felt like I was also learning a thing or two while watching two people fall in love.
And the epilogue!?!?!?!

I can't wait to read all the other books in this series!

Sweet but a little boring.

Luca is the sweetest simp boy ever and I did love him, he was the book basically. And I love a latin king!
There was just soooo much filler! Their environmentalist which is so cool but it went so heavy on the corporate inner workings of a non profit, I was bored to tears. There were so many subplots and side characters and they just fell kinda flat.
So basically three stars to sweet Luca bc he was divine.

The banter in this book is top notch
I read it slowly because I enjoyed the details and pacing. With that said, I felt the last 20% of the book felt a bit rushed and didn’t match the beginning half of the book. I thought Luca was super charming at first and towards the end he turned out to be a little too obsessive it wasn’t as cute as he led on. Other than that, I enjoyed this book.

I absolutely adored these two TikTok account (and instas) and was so excited when I found out they had a book coming out!

And I absolutely wasn’t disappointed, this was so cute and tropey in the best way, I was giggling and swooning through out the whole book,

This book is a top tier mix of workplace romance with sexual tension that can’t be contained.
Banter that will make you fan yourself and how a person can do so much for what/who means everything to them.

Tropes:

Kind of Enemies to Lover
Workplace romance
Grumpy Sunshine
Guy falls first

Things I liked:

Amazing side characters, Top tier Banter, the subtle spice and that MMC is Spanish
