Not as strong as the Percy Jackson series, but still enjoyable. I did apreciate the dual narrators and the sibling bond, but the whole possession thing was...dare I say dumb?

Enjoyed this. I had heard from a lot of people it wasn’t very good, so perhaps that lowered my expectations, but I thought this was pretty good. Sadie and Carter were interesting characters that I was rooting for and I liked the ending. I’m excited to see where the series goes.

A classic and amazing Riordan novel. You taught the Greek gods were trouble? you clearly have not met the Egyptians.

I really enjoyed this book - I loved the dynamics between Carter and Sadie, about how they grow closer to each other but also sometimes resented each other for how the other grew up. It felt so real, and their banter was great. Watching them absolutely no idea what to do but they kept persisting was also really sweet.
There were times that I felt like Sadie got all the power and others were just amazed at it whilst Carter got less power and less time to explore it, but I guess you can’t fit everything into one book.

I never really noticed how much of a mess Egyptian gods were until I read this though, and I thought the Greeks has issues.
Onto the next!

3.5⭐️. This was a reread for me, mostly because I was in kind of a reading slump and Rick Riordan (almost) never fails me.
Anyway...meh. After PJ, Heroes of Olympus was good, but the other series... I always felt like I was missing something that could make me LOVE these books as PJ. I guess I haven’t found this yet.

It's like Percy Jackson, but Egyptian instead of Greek Mythology. I didn't completely devour it like I did the Percy Jackson novels, but it was still really good! I'd recommend it to anyone who likes YA novels and especially those who like Egyptian Mythology.
