The retelling of the movie is pretty spot on and made me laugh aloud much like the movie does. The sequel was adorable and had some spookiness to it, just like the original. It was easy to read even though it’s over 500 pages long. Definitely recommend to resistant readers, middle to high school aged readers, and anyone who wants a nostalgia read that will take them back to 1993 with The Sanderson Sisters.
Moderate: Bullying, Child death, Death, Infidelity, Misogyny, Torture, Violence, Kidnapping, Cannibalism, Religious bigotry, Murder, and Toxic friendship
