The prose translation turned out to be choppy and disrupted my reading experience many times, but if you don't mind that then the stories are great; some of them are too short to make an impact, but great nonetheless.

I do wonder if the lais could be translated as poems without losing its meaning...

Really enjoyed this! I'd only read Lanval and Chevrefoil before, so I wanted to check out Marie de France's other lais too. I thought they were all really well done (and tbh appreciated the prose translation) except for Eliduc, which was too long and too stupid. Here's hoping some day we find out some concrete facts about Marie de France.
