Awesome as only Edward Gorey can be. I recommend this gruesome little treasure to anyone who has an odd sense of humour. ;)

I read both the English version and its Spanish translation and I was disappointed to see that the Spanish version did not include the rhymes present in the original.

One of Edward Gorey's most well known books which has been quite controversial and is inspired by: “those 19th century cautionary tales, I guess, though my book is punishment without misbehavior.” This book contains 26 kids as characters who represent each letter from the english alphabet and their cause of death.
