THIS BOOK IS DARKER THAN IM USED TO!!
okay so she is a writer who got involved with a bad guy from the cassano mafia, she gets fucked up and then runs away and goes to police which put her in witness protection. Anthony is in the Valeti mafia as their hitman. He is given a hit by the cassanos and finds her in witness protection but instead of killing her, he decides he wants her. So he kidnaps her and builds a little guilded cage for her. Long story short they fall in love and it’s cute-ishhh 😂

Liked it

I am so enjoying each book has its own unique twist to it. I think the author did a great job with the characters showing their differences as well as their similarities

I really wanted to love this book! This is the last book in the Valetti Crime Family series, and in this one, we follow Anthony as he fights to keep Catherine. It felt rushed, and I wish we focused a little more on ending this deal that was made for the hit on Catherine. Anthony's a hitman for the family and makes contracts that come in. He knows he can't fulfill this contract the second he sees Catherine. He talks about how that was taken care of or paid off, but then they start pressuring the family to know why she's still alive. It would have been more interesting if we focused on that whole angle a little bit more. Catherine was supposed to be one of his, but he decided to make a deal with the people instead to keep her.
Even though this wasn't my favorite, and I wish this series had another ending, I can't wait to continue with the Discreet collection! I'm obsessed now and can't wait to have them all eventually!

This wasn’t one of my favorites by Willow Winters, but it wasn’t bad; just kinda meh.  I liked the idea of it; a spicy book reviewer gets bought by this “bad boy” in the mafia and fighting anyone for her.  However, I just didn’t think it worked as well as some of the author’s other books.  This was fast-paced and I just had a hard time liking the characters consistently.  I didn’t like how Catherine went back and forth with loving the BDSM elements and then the next minute she was uncomfortable with it.  Overall, it just felt like the characters were kinda one dimensional and it came off as awkward sometimes.
