The characters and world building really come to life and I loved every minute of it.

This books only flaw is that one of the three main characters (on the cover!) doesn't show up until near the end of the book. False advertising.

This book is absolutely delightful and has fantastic chronic pain/illness rep, queer rep, world building and characters. Vlad is my favorite. He's very relatable. I can't wait for book 2

Read this book on recommendation of a friend, and it was well worth the time! While other reviewers have complained about the late-arriving throuple dynamic, I appreciate the build-up for what it is—and loved what grew between Nathan and Vlad in the majority of the book. I'd almost call it a cozy fantasy, with how much it focused on the personal issues of the two main characters, but I liked that it had larger problems brewing in the background to return to with future installments.
