This was a good story, but for me it just didn't work. Sequels are not easy to write...keeping the tension between known entities...and that is what bothered me.

I know that Charlotte and Jamie are supposed to have an off again/on again relationship...and it is based wholy in Charlotte's mercurial nature, but this just wasn't good enough, for me.

The "murder"/kidnapping also was a little too weak, too. The way it was completed/solved...just fell flat.

That does not mean that the overall story was bad, it was just that I don't think the choices that were made by the author/editor were the best...in my opinion.

I love the characters, so I've picked up the third book in the series...to push away that which I didn't like in this book. Onward!
