Everyone drew closer to him, like he was a magnet and they were metal.
โLight follows him. Itโs always sunny when heโs around.โ
It felt like someone had slipped glasses on my face. And that someone had given me permission to see.
Then I held on to her. There wasnโt much else to say, not until I could puzzle it all out in my head, so I just held on to her. Tight enough that maybe the next time she thought about going it alone, sheโd remember there was no need.
๐๏ธ First person dual POV; Part 1 is Vera only
๐๏ธ Sixth & final in a series following the Edens; you need to read book 5 for the overarching storyline to make sense
๐๏ธ After the trauma of her past Vera is seeking a normal life, and a life changing love. But will Mateo ever see her?
๐๏ธ Storyline spans years
๐๏ธ Longtime unrequited crush

A great conclusion to the Edens. While they are all interconnected standalones , Iโd say that to read this one you have to read at least Crimison River first! As the story is truly interconnected.
I really loved Vera , I didnโt know what to expect and I was surprised on how well I connected to her story. She had a lot of trauma but she was able to work through it and she was very resilient. There was a particular scene were I had to pause reading because of the second hand embarassement but thatโs just me lol.
In the end she worked for what she wanted and was an amazing human being.
Mateo was nice, I liked how he easily protected Vera and he tried to always uplift her. He never treated her like she was broken. But I found him a bit bland ๐
I wonder if weโll ever get a next gen book. I would love to rrad about all the kids
Moderate: Animal death, Child abuse, Violence, and Murder

This series was the first Devney Perry books I ever read. I fell in love with this family in Indigo Ridge and never stopped.
This book follows the youngest Eden child, Mateo and Vera. Their romance doesnโt start off to the best start. Vera has loved Mateo from afar for years. It isnโt until a drunken moment for Vera to reveal her true feelings. Mateo feels like an idiot for not realising her true feelings. But as soon as he lets himself truly see her, he soon realises he does have feelings for her.
Their romance starts off slow but quickly picks up speed. With no third act break up, their romance is all about healing their internal feels from their pasts.
I absolutely loved this book. Itโs up there with one of my favourite of the series.
