This is my first novel by Suzanne Enoch, and I throughly enjoyed the story, characters and writing. As this is the first book in the series, it sets up the arc of the series and introduces the readers to the main players. With all that going on, the love story of Niall and Amelia-Rose was the perfect one to start with. The chemistry between the two was in the banter and compassion they had for one another. Amelia-Rose's own battle of wanting to be herself and trying to appease her parents to keep the peace was quite relatable even if arranged marriages are not so much the custom. Her witty insights make her a sassy heroine, and is what Niall needs. I read this book in two sittings, as once I started I really didn't want to stop reading till the story finished. I cannot wait for the next book in the series, and see the heroines that make Coll and Aden sweat! It will also be interesting to see Angus and Francesca meet again. I look forward to more novels by Enoch.

I feel like the beginning of the book is pretty weak and didn't get good until the ball scene. But the characters were fun enough that I was able to push through the more eh bits to get to the good stuff.

This took me a while to read because I just didn’t really have the time to read it, but I also did struggle with interest for most of my time reading this. It wasn’t boring or bad, but it wasn’t anything that stood out or felt new and exciting? It wasn’t bad, I did enjoy the story. I’m on the fence about liking it I guess, but I still can’t say I didn’t like it and I do think it was a bit better than ok so I’m going between at 2.5. It was well written but I felt I needed more to happen than what did. I only really felt emotions when he turned up to her house to speak with her parents and when he went to her window and it was locked.
Unsure if I’ll read more in the series but I will admit the brothers do interest me so I guess I’ll decide when I know more about the next book.

This was my first book by Suzanne Enoch. It was okay... I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. Meh. The plot felt forced (what mother abandons her 3 of her children for 17 years? She couldn't visit? They couldn't visit her?) and there was something so contradictory about Amelia-Rose - she has this inner wit and can't hold her tongue but is also a rule abiding daughter?

It’s Getting Scot in Here is the first book of a new series, Wild Wicked Highlanders.
In this first book, we meet the three MacTaggert brothers. And when we begin reading it (if you haven’t read the synopsis, that is), we don’t really know which brother is going to be the hero of this story, simply because it’s supposed to be the beginning of Cole’s story (the older brother). But, alas, Cole is not ready yet, and Niall (the younger brother) steps up.
Amelia-Rose is the sweetest girl, with a sharp tongue. An English rose, with thorns. The Scottish brothers are hoping to find only boring, malleable sassenachs, but on the very first night, they get Amelia-Rose. And Niall starts to fall in love in her right away.
Although not long passes between the moment they met and the moment they decide to marry, it’s not an insta-love story. And I’m glad, because I’m not the biggest fan of these stories.
Niall and Amelia-Rose go out, talk a lot, and we get to know them and see their chemistry grow more with each passing day. And more than that, we can see true love developing.
This was the first book I’ve read written by Suzanne Enoch, and it was delightful. A love story than keeps us interested, and engaged with the characters, and that makes us happy there are more books to come with this family.
