This character is down bad for nearly the entirety of the book. It was hard for me to finish just because I couldn't really see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I guess neither could she lol. Will be a while before I start the rest of the trilogy again.

This book was much darker than I expected based on the summary and very beginning. I recommend checking the content warnings before reading. Overall, it was very vivid with well-developed characters and a good plot.

This is a good book that with better pacing could have been great. I really loved the world building and rich mythology, but so much happens in a relatively short amount of time that it feels like characters don't get time to develop. (The love story also interjects somewhat haphazardly into the epic quest story, at least in my opinion.) The end result is almost 500 pages and a large cast that I felt like I still didn't know that well.
