Feeling some deep, extremely personal synergy with this series in real time currently.

Issue #2 continues the story of Gideon Falls in every way I hoped it would. Lemire's writing and Sorrentino's art combine to intrigue, disorient, and unsettle in what has so far been a relatively quiet story interrupted on occasion by striking moments of surprise and fear.

Everything in this comic works. It's fresh, powerful, and leaves me wanting more every time. I'm excited to see where the story goes.

Issue 2 of this fantastic new series from Lemire and Sorrentino shows I was right to gush about it at launch.
The two storylines (one young mans insistence of a conspiracy while battling the mental health system, and the priest with a past thrown into a town's mystery) are still only connected by the mysterious Black Barn, but you can see they are heading towards a collision soon.

Sorrentino's art is sublime with her line work adding a detached 'scratchy' feel to the world her and Lemire have created.

Seriously, if this isn't on your pull-list already after the buzz from issue 1, then add it now.

Many thanks to Image for the review copy.
