Firstly, I thought the ideas presented in this book are inspirational. The approach of thinking through the hands has a lot to offer in many different disciplines. In this sense, this is an excellent book. Unfortunately, the way it's written made me want to throw it out of the window a great many times. The last chapter was a bit like reading Beckett's The Unnamable - a sort of nightmarish blur of words. Sudnow's insistence on stringing out his sentences until they become comma separated lists drove me to the brink. I really can't imagine how difficult it was to read before, if this is the 'rewritten' version.

Luckily the writing style doesn't manage to overshadow the brilliance of the subject matter, and I'm glad I stuck with it.
