Middle school readers should know there is some swearing, but it's pretty minimal. TFIOS fans will love this, as will anyone who likes YA romance. And it will also make you HUNGRY!!! The only thing I didn't love was the implication that Davis' medication was the reason for her personality changes. Grief alone can cause personality changes, and I wouldn't want anyone to decide not to take medication for mental health needs because they are concerned about personality changes.

I received this as an eARC through Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

Saira, the Indian American equivalent of Dougie Houser, is starting her job as a doctor in the children's cancer ward. Ever since she diagnosed her late best friend's leukemia, Saira was determined to become a doctor and be part of the process to help heal those like her friend. At sixteen, many believe that she hasn't had it as difficult as she should, but Saira is determined to prove that she is just as good a doctor as any of her other cohorts. Of course all of her hard work could be ruined because her mother works in the same hospital and is always desperately late and hover-y, though truly it is because Saira met a cute guy on the ward sparks have started to fly and it turns out he is a patient. While he thinks Saira is a patient too, the truth and his presence may create some serious trouble for Saira.

I thought this was an interesting premise that I wanted to like. I did have difficulty ever liking Saira. Also, the story-line felt like a Grey's Anatomy rework.

I really wanted to like this book. I really did. Sadly, I did not. It just was not my cup of tea. I was expecting a lot more from this book, but sadly I barley got anything.

I love books that end like this because they let my imagination run wild. Thanks for letting me be apart of your story, even if it were for just a moment.

I don't think this was very well written and the whole plot was pretty preposterous, but it did make for an easy and enjoyable read. A lot of the dialogue didn't feel very organic, and it took me a while to figure out who all the characters were. I'm also not sure that all the plot lines completely resolved themselves which bothered me.
