I’m so thrilled that Ryne got his own book! I enjoyed Melody and her clumsy but adorable ways. The plot was predictable, but as I said with the first novel, that’s just how I like my romance. I knew Ryne was a nice guy but misunderstood from the first novel, but in this it really shows how easy it would be to misunderstand him. In this book, Ryne is a total ass, I still thought he was funny and sweet, but the way he treated Mel drove me crazy. I knew there was a kind and sensitive guy hiding in there, but it was all hidden by posturing and trying to keep his pack safe. I could understand why Ryne needed to keep his distance, but he was terrible at it, and it only hurt Melody. I know his wolf wanted him to be connected, but I just think that Ryne should’ve handled the situation better. The side characters always make this series better for me, and I adored the hilarious Lucy, gigantic Armand, sweet Ruth, and nosy Beth. They just put the perfect bow on this present. I’m also glad to see that there will be a continuation with the series, I’m concerned about Cassandra, and I’m hopeful that Bryan will be able to find her. I’m definitely looking forward to the next one!

Having read the first book, I was instantly interested in Kane’s brother’s story. I have to say, I think the second book was written much better than the first. It’s told from two point of views, Ryne’s and Melody’s.

Melody is sent to her information from Ryne regarding a picture he took, so she stalks him (literally) and poses as a journalist. She doesn’t get her boss’s obsession with him (the readers do), but sets out to do her task. He’s abrasive, but handsome and she finds herself drawn to him.

Ryne and his new packmates have settled into a new home, set on starting a new life. When Melody comes around, he’s instantly suspicious. He’s determined to keep his, and his brother’s pack, safe and that mean keeping their werewolf lineage a secret. Melody threatens to expose it, but he can’t stay away from her.

Catching feelings for the man, she refuses to turn in her report to her boss once she goes home. Of course, boss man isn’t happy and takes matters into his own hands.

Loved it! Just gets better. Can't wait to read the finding but it will have to wait as I have the final Sookie stack house book to read first. Such a good story and werewolf universe Nicky has created.

The Law of the Lycans Series is a series of five books that explains the law of the Lycan Werewolves with a story behind it. Each story behind each law is good but I didn't like how the writer wrote the story. Nicky kept on repeating what I've already known. Yes I can understand the characters questioning things, but why do this in every chapter? It just drags out the whole story. I've also didn't like how Nicky kept referring the main character as a third person. The books Bonded and Betrayed was okay, but after that the other three books, the main character was she or her and not I or my. I think if you write a book from your characters point of view use that main character as a first person.

This doesn't mean I didn't like the stories of The Law of the Lycans, it just made it VERY HARD for me to read the books. Most of the time I skipped over what I already known. I did like the relationships each character had with each other. That part really pulled every book together. In one way are another each one of them knew each other and had a relationship.

Loved Ryne!
Nice to see a pack starting from scratch in a new area and facing those challenges.

Loved tgis books issues with the photo of Kane that Ryne took.

Story kept you on your toes. Well written, but I admit to skim reading at times when a lot of writing held a lot of info already said or just stuff tgat didn't need to be said!

Good book and good series I am amazed that it is all free. Other than a donation to a local animal shelter which seems more than fair.

I like how Nicky is keeping all the previous characters coming into the new story. This story is more of the Lycans Laws .. this one on The Keeping. Keeping the secret of Lycans away from humans. Melody comes to meet Ryne with the pretense of interviewing him. They both end up learning more about each other than expected. Hot sex again, and a well developed story.
