This was one of the best books I have read in awhile. I could relate to Angel about feeling unworthy. Great story.

The story of Michael Hosea and Sarah/Angel/Amanda!!! Michael was a God fearing man and Sarah was a young woman born into prostitution. This was my first dive into an historical Christian fiction and I must say I loved it. This story was so layered and it showed Gods unwavering love in every step. No matter what hand you were dealt or the choices you make God will be waiting there in the background. This book brought me back to my roots and whew Angel took us through it but boy the trauma she went through messed her up but healing … my God!!! Just read it and follow this biblical journey. Michael is the diagram on how to love someone through it all, he was amazing. I absolutely loved what happened with Paul in the end. Great book would re-read.

This book will not be for everyone. I have had this book for forever and have only just now have read it. It was incredibly sad and depressing but the message is amazing. This is a religious historical fiction story. So like I said not a normal book I read and it’s not for everyone. But I actually really enjoyed the story. It made me feel so many different things and I have found out there is a movie about it which is something I’ll have to watch as well. And if the storytelling is only half as beautiful as in the book I think it’ll be so good.

A well written novel, with strong religious themes that may not be for every reader

My first religious romance! lol
The overall story wasn't too bad, but there was a bit too much talking to god for me. Actually, it wasn't talking to god, it was god talking back that I didn't like.
The reason I read this book is that I saw the trailer for the movie and it looks really good. Although I am hoping for less of a religious focus, when I got towards the ending of the book I saw how it all comes together. What I don't love is Michael's obsession for Angel and somehow that is supposed to be love. If he had really wanted to be Christian, he would have set her up in her own house and then courted her. Yes, he finally lets her be free, but I just didn't like the way he went about it.
In reality, she wouldn't want a man anywhere near her, but suddenly she has to accept that one is 'saving' her..
I did like the overall theme of forgiving and not judging, exactly what I think a Christian should be. Pity that most of them are hypocritical and judgemental about those who don't have the same beliefs.

Spoiler
I also didn't find it believable that she would suddenly get pregnant and have heaps of kids at the end. I would have preferred her to rescue trafficked children and raise themI did like the overall theme of forgiving and not judging, exactly what I think a Christian should be.
