Funny, but whoa, that took a big turn that hardly related to the first book!

This story was comical at times but more often it had a negative vibe to it. I didn't appreciate making the astronauts, generals and the President look like buffoons nor the old people fighting all the time. But as I said the author did create a story of fantasy that lovers of Willy Wonka most likely will enjoy. I'd recommend this books to readers of the fantasy genre and especially Dahl fans.

Very disappointed with this sequel. Not sure what Roald was smoking, or lack there of. Doesn’t match Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, my all time childhood favorite.

The sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that never made it into Movie form and as much as I love it I can see why. Roald Dahl never was a stranger to silly elements in his writing but this one is like a silliness overdose. From a hotel in outer space to battling stretchy aliens to people who are too young and people who are too old and a President Of The United States who needs a nanny to keep an eye on him. So as much as I love this one it is hard to see how it would translate into movie format but that is ok because I’m quite sure Roald Dahl would have preferred his stories to be read and not seen!
