This series is really cute, and the main character is awesome. I liked the mystery, and I understand that they have to add a bit of drama, but the whole ex-fiance/romantic interest comes to the island and causes trouble was JUST done in the last book...so it was a little old. But the rest of this story was great.

Another great read by Karen MacInerney. This was probably the most enjoyable of the series.

Thoroughly enjoyed book three of this series. I love getting to know the larger cast of characters that series books gives you the time to meet!

I love those books. They are light, fluffy and cozy. No bad language or gruesome details. Just a nice easy book to take your mind off. A perfect predictable book for the summer vacation and the beach. Recipes at the end of the book.
The author should maybe pay attention to time. So they are on an island, which you get to by boat only. They are hiking to a lighthouse, find a dead body, Natalie leaves to call the cops from the mainland and remains at the inn because she has lunch to prepare. She has an errand to run at her friends store on the usland after lunch, just a few hours after the body was found, and her friend tells that the autopsy result is inconclusive....? This is just one example of the messed up time references. Other than that, like I said before: easy, light, predictable, clean and fluffy

I am going to stop this series. The main character is obsessed in an unhealthy way with weight & body size. The author describes many characters as thick, with jowels, etc. I enjoy a fun mindless romp - but these just aren't.

Another really good cozy mystery. I'm really enjoying the Gray Whale Inn mysteries. I have decided I really like books involving inns! I loved all the Grace Chapel Inn books I've read (Christian fiction from Guideposts) and this series as well I got the first one for free, and have bought the last two at a discounted price. I hope to find #4, Berried to the Hilt, marked down sooner or later. I enjoy the characters, the setting, the recipes, and the workings of the inn and the island, a small fictitious island off the coast of Maine. This one I did figure out a little quicker, but I think it's just because I'm getting used to this author and the characters and how she writes her cozies. Still enjoyable!
