Wow! I LOVE the concept of some people being able to make physical items from their dreams real, and the complexity of an issue like that. A total cliffhanger so I HAVE GOT TO remember to keep up with this series. Plus I listened to this as an audiobook, it was narrated by Will Patton who has become one of my favorite audiobook readers! Excellent book.

Just... wow. When I finished the Raven Cycle, I was definitely left wanting a bit more; especially in regards to Ronan Lynch, but I just wasn't prepared for what Call Down the Hawk gave us.
If you are a fan of the Raven Cycle, this start of the Dreamer group of books only makes them better. If you are ready to be fully entrenched in the fantastical world of the Lynch brothers, Call Down the Hawk will not disappoint. For as much as I love the Raven Cycle, it's almost heretical to think I might like this series better. We shall see what number two brings.

Honestly did not expect to like this as much as I did and WOW it surprised me so SO much. I loved the Lynch brothers, Hennessy and Jordan and I cant wait to read more of this characters. Also if you have read The Raven Cycle and enjoyed it but still haven’t read this? You should read it. Also the Ronan + Adam content was so cute and I HOPE we get more because I am greedy and I want them to always be endgame. Also Matthew has my whole heart and I need more of him. Maybe next book we will have more!

There are a lot of characters and moving parts which makes it hard to keep track of everything.
I missed Adam and hope he's in the next one more. I did enjoy seeing Opal again.
This book has the classic YA "let's don't actually end this installment but leave it open to sell more books" ending which automatically bumps it down a star for me.

A SOLID 3.75 STARS
I have thoughts about this book. Can I have thoughts? I definitely want to talk about it in terms of how much I feel like the dynamic changed. Something about this book felt off in a way that the Raven Cycle didn't.
But anyway.
It took me about 100 pages to really get into this book because for the beginning, I felt the magic and dynamic I was constantly surrounded with during the Raven Cycle wasn't there with this book. I'm not sure how much of it was my attachment to characters like Adam, Blue, and Gansey, but something about the narrative & it consistently switching between these three different characters offput me for a while.
That said - it was good? The one thing I really picked up on is how Jordan’s hair is called kinky?? And I feel like that’s bad.
But I ended up loving Jordan and Hennessy. I think they deserve the world and I find them utterly fascinating as both art forgers and a dreamer/dream. Jordan was definitely my favorite; there was something tangible in the way she pushes and pulls against Hennessy, but understands that they are simply mirrors of each other that really caught me. And then Declan/Jordan! I feel like Declan and Jordan's dynamic was really sweet and interesting. One of the best things in this book, besides the continuing relationship between Adam and Ronan.
I ended up liking a great deal of this book, but I definitely feel like the two story lines between Carmen and Ronan & Hennessy didn't mesh. I feel like Carmen's story line is really disjointed because of the juxtaposition between this seemingly magical world and then this big government organization. However, I think she's a fantastic character and I'm interested to see more of her and Lilliana.
I feel both satisfied and dissatisfied with this book, but I guess that's because the ending kind of killed me. I feel like Bryde is some sort of Adam. I'm not sure. Something in the way he's described.
