A brief overview of the series thus far: A girl named Nina is attacked by a werewolf, and then she becomes one. She is taken to Abigaile Island, a prison/school for werewolf children to learn how to become docile slaves to their human oppressors. Once there, she enters into a love triangle with Roy, the werewolf and bad boy who originally attacked her, and Gilles, the dark-haired man who is friends with the student council president. Nina learns more about the luga (werewolves) and vows to help them in their quest for freedom.
When I started reading the Beasts of Abigaile series, the first book had just come out, and I had expected it to be a lot longer. Much to my surprise, Volume 4 is the conclusion of the story, and it’s where we finally start getting real answers about what happened to the luga princes, why Nina turned into a werewolf in the first place, and what role her family played in the history of Abigaile Island. It’s a pretty great payoff, and I was satisfied with the way that the story ended. The epilogue especially was just adorable.
I do think that the series would have benefited from another volume or two; it feels like there are a lot of events and details packed into one book, and the pacing is different from the rest of the book. I get the impression that maybe the publisher decided to stop the series after 4 books, and so the author was forced to pack a lot of plot and backstory into the last volume in order to make it work. This was such a fun series, and I can’t help but wish that there was more of it.

Mir haben die Vorgängerbände der Reihe schon super gefallen und ich war gespannt, wie die tolle Story, um die Loup-Ga nun enden wird mit diesem vierten Band. Es war ein wirklich mitreißendes Finale. Es gab jede Menge Action, alles wurde nun erklärt (auch wenn ich weiterhin den Hass des Direktors und die Grausamkeit, die auf dem Schloss herrschte nicht verstehe) und vor allem wurde das Geheimnis um Roy und Gil aufgeklärt. Alles in allem war ich wirklich gefesselt beim Lesen und habe am Ende das Gefühl gehabt ein Märchen gelesen zu haben. Inhaltlich möchte ich nicht mehr verraten. Ihr könnt gern meine KurzReview zu Band 1 lesen. Ich kann die Reihe wirklich sehr empfehlen sowohl von der Story her als auch vom Zeichenstil. Hervorheben möchte ich noch die Originalität des Mangas. Ich kenne keine Story mit der die Geschichte vergleichbar wäre oder auch nur ähnelt. Langweilig wird’s also auf keinen Fall.
Der Zeichenstil gefiel mir auch richtig gut. Ich bin ja sowieso ein großer Fan von Shiftern und Hybriden. Hier wurden sie mir zwar nicht ganz so dargestellt, wie ich es mag. Eher japanisch und künstlich als realistisch, wie ich es bevorzuge. Trotzdem fand ich es gut und die kleinen Loup-Ga waren einfach der absolute Hammer in Sachen Cuteness.

Eher japanisch und künstlich als realistisch, wie ich es bevorzuge. Trotzdem fand ich es gut und die kleinen Loup-Ga waren einfach der absolute Hammer in Sachen Cuteness.

The story got progressively better each volume.
I'm sad that the ending was so fast. It could have had a fifth volume to truly wrap up the ending with a bit more detail.
All in all, a pretty good series.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??? The ending was too quick! And honestly why the heck didn't we get a follow up for the queens and Poe?? AND WHAT THE FUCK?? GILLES??? I-
I'm like not super upset about the ending, but also really upset about the ending. I'm so conflicted!!! Overall I really liked this series, but I feel like we should've gotten a fifth book. Like this fourth one should've been stretched into two, cause we got hit with too much information for it too be this short. I liked how fast paced this series was, but this ending was a little too fast paced. I honestly don't know how to cope with that. I sat for a few seconds just laughing after finishing because honestly what the fuck. I'm shook.

This story overall was a little bit ridiculous and I would have appreciated more details about certain things. But also, I would like 100 more of these

After the last volume I had to find out what happened because there were a couple of WTF moments. I had a feeling there would be more to Nina but I wasn't really sure where the mangaka was going to go with it. I'm really happy with how it progressed and we got to see more of the school/prison's backstory along with the mysterious president of the student council.
My main ship sank a couple volumes ago but I am actually a lot happier with the one that seemed to emerge from the wreckage. Still, I do feel like there should have been more volumes to pad this out because I really did like the story and the world, but I understand why she didn't add more.
A very solid happy ending. The series had really good pacing and I liked the overall message and tone.
I'm going to be picking more up from this mangaka for sure, I really like her style and the artwork is stunning. I also loved the little notes that she'd leave at the beginning or the end or how she would explain why she chose certain design aspects or the inspiration for for the story. It's a great way to see the mangaka's personality.
