Cute little pallet cleanser, fun series, looking forward to the rest of them!

Cute. Devraj was a great character. Him and Isadora made a good couple.

I was a little confused by how his author’s vampire lore. She didn’t really explain them well. Like for a time, it seemed like the only difference between them and humans was the whole blood thing. I never knew the extent of their abilities. We get a glimpse later in the book. But it’s not ever truly explained imo.

Overall, this was a good story and I enjoyed it.

I don't love enemies to lovers usually but I definitely adored watching Devraj fall hard and fast and Isadora having exactly no time for him. This definitely has some real Pride and Prejudice vibes to it which is really fun to read while they are still solving a literal magical crime together. Also - Big John. I literally laughed out loud the entire time! My only complaint is that it felt rushed in the end and their HEA seemed to come out of nowhere. I wanted more of the angst that I felt in the end of book one.

Stars: four stars
Steam: steamy! multiple sexy scenes with lots of consent and discussions of pleasure
Tropes: fated mates, enemies to friends to lovers, hookup to HEA
For Fans Of: Jake and Amy on Brooklyn 99 or Bride and Prejudice (adorable Bollywood movie)
Subgenre: contemporary romance - paranormal
CW/ TW: mentions of grief and death, some violence on the page

A true rom com. Angsty goodness. Sort of celebrity trope which I usually don’t love but it just worked. Super protective hero and I have fallen in love with all the sisters and side characters. Will be continuing the series
