Ok, so my review of book one may have been a bit off. I said that it wasn’t as crazy as CM’s other books, but now that I’ve read the whole series I have to admit that I was wrong. This book was crazy, intense, and way worth the read!

For some reason this book kinda dragged on :/

I still liked the plot. I just wish the ending hadn’t died off like that.

To be honest, I wasnt sure whether to go with 4 or 3 stars. But I went with 3 because this book was kind of boring at times surprisingly. At times I wanted something to happen...drama or more plot. Anything. Instead I got more internal yammerings from a fmc who couldn't be more annoying. What controversial topic is discussed over and over online today? Let's have Chuck have an opinion on it! Its frustrating to read because it feels out of place at times in the book and with a character who is in high school juggling 5 guys while trying to bring up her grades and not get killed. Once in a while is fine..but...it just really seemed like overkill and a way for the author to once again shove her beliefs onto her readers.
Also...FBI agents letting 18 year old STUDENTS on an undercover operation?! Yeah, no. Especially since kids parents are super wealthy blah blah blah. That would never happen. And I'm still not entirely sure how they didnt think they wouldn't be targeted during prom and the motives for the killer. Just because they had to pick someone and that's it? I expected better reasoning. This was just kind of a let down.

A decent enough ending, not quite as climactic as one would hope. Chuck was starting to do my head in with all the lame things she said, I was ready to kill someone if I had to read “okay boomer” once more, that’s so cringe.

I wouldn’t say I liked this series, although I did enjoy aspects of it, it kept me entertained well enough.

This review will be a review of the whole series after reading all three books in quick succession.

At first, I hated this series. It was a struggle to get through the awkwardness of the first book. Charlotte can be a really hard character to read at the start of this series. She's an immature dickhead that we're not meant to like. Anyone who knows me knows that the fmc makes or breaks a book for me. But I've read a lot of CM Stunich books. I had to finish the series off if only out of loyalty (and also because I really want to read Orientation, but I feel that context is needed before reading).

That said, as the series progressed, Charlotte became lovable. And her boys were one of the best parts of the reading experience (although I think Church was my favorite). I read the Burberry Prep series some years ago and I adored that series, but the dynamic between the boys in Maryne's harem is enough to give anyone a headache. In the Adamson series, the boys start out already being friends, and by the end of the series- they've all made their peace with Charlotte and being in a harem with her.

I appreciated that sort of resolution.

This is a romance series, but it's also a murder mystery. The murder mystery was intriguing and it really was only super prevalent in this last book. While the murders and stalking occured in the first two books- the secrets start to come out in this third book. I think that's why I liked book three best. It had a solid plot as well as a solid romance.

In the end, I would recommend this series. But I warn anyone who reads it that you need to at least get through book 1 and into book 2 before you'll start really liking it.
