Nightlights is a lovely book that shows us all the different ways the world lights up after the sun goes down. It is also a great introduction to celestial concepts like constellations and moon phases for young readers.

Making a note of the family structure -- single white father, twin african-american daughters -- because sometimes that's exactly what I'm looking for. I love that the imagery in picture books is actively trying to be more diverse.

Regarding the actual picture book -- lovely rhyming text, night time adventure and a nod to different luminary sources. Probably long for a story time, but wonderful and soothing for a good night book.
