Night Rabbits is a cute little story about a girl’s relationship with the rabbits that come out to play in her yard at night.

Elizabeth loves the rabbits that play in the yard at night, and when she can’t sleep she always goes out to sleep on the porch hammock where she can watch them. However they are starting to eat the grass that her father tries so hard to take care of, and in order to keep the rabbits aroud she comes up with a solution so that both the rabbits and her father can stay happy.

The story itself is cute, but doesn’t have too much depth. The solution is more of a compromise on her father’s part than an actual solution, but it’s the thought that counts right? The art is what I loved the most though. Montgomery has painted some stunning pictures to go a long with the story, to me it’s what makes the story worth reading.

Overall it’s a cute book, but nothing I would go out of my way to recommend to a child (unless they love rabbits).
