3.5 stars.

These are definitely light reads. There isn't a ton of character development and they seem so short, but they are still good reads (I totally went all Alton Brown there in my head). The tv show is a guilty pleasure, so it's not surprising that these books have taken the same role. In the books, I find it hard to like any one character though. In the show, Aria is by far my favorite - although it was Spencer for a really long time. The book characters have so much more going on that it's hard to like them at times.

This is the second book in the young-adult series, "Pretty Little Liars." While I found the first book readable, I had trouble keeping track of the various main characters (except for dead, mean Alison and proto-lesbian Emily). In this book, I began to feel as though I had a sense of each of the characters. By the end of this installment, I felt that I knew each character, and I was really hooked on the mystery of who A might be.

I don’t know what else to say about this installment of the series. The writing was okay, the plotting was more than a little improbable. The character development was okay. The enduring literary value of the work is probably negligible. As the series progresses, it’s puzzling that not one of these kids turns to Mom or Dad for help with A’s persecution.

I can‘t really explain why i dont like this book as mich as the first. Maybe it is because I feel like theres nothing very new. I still liked it though and will probably continue the series because i want to find out everyithing.

The author really does keep you guessing on who is threatening these girls...I have my suspicions, but i might have to wait awhile to see if i was right or not.
