Good lord, this book was awful. I've never encountered a more insufferable main character.

Cute. Predictable but cute.

I really liked that this isn't your typical romance trope story. Though a happy ending is implied it doesn't straight out happen. This book was funny and quirky.

I had a bit of trouble at the beginning getting into this book but once I got past the first few chapters and got used to the writing style I got sucked in and really enjoyed it. The build up of the character in the beginning felt a bit unnecessarily wordy like the author was trying a little too hard to impress us with her brain but I felt that it evened out and the flow got better once you got past the first few chapters. All in all this book made me smile, laugh and cry which made it a great read in my opinion.

I was gifted an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is not a romance novel, let's start there. It's women's lit. By definition, romance has a Happily Ever After, and this book doesn't, at all. Depending on your definition of a HEA, this may be the book for you, but this was definitely not the book for me. The writing is fine; it's everything else.

Zoey is very confused and thinks she's the cause of other brides' misfortune. She "causes" three brides to not make it down the aisle, and this causes an existential crisis in Zoey, so she rejects her boyfriend's proposal of marriage.
SpoilerShe then comes to the conclusion that marriage is not for her, which is totally her right, but her logic is flimsy and doesn't really hold up. The book ends with her kissing and possibly starting something with a very bitter divorced man. Yikes.
While I don't agree with Zoey, I can appreciate the author writing a book like this. I can see many people going into this book thinking it's romance, but be warned it's not!
