I wasn't a huge fan of this one in the beginning, but it turned around and become quite the page turner. The big reveal of The Adversary, finally! And the Snow Queen!

This volume was focused more around the Homelands, Blue Boy in specific as a hero, which I enjoyed.
We also find out who the adversary is!
was NOT who I expected at all, nice plot twist!

I love getting more back story. The further these graphic novels go on, the more fleshed out the setting and characters are. I know I keep saying it but it literally keeps getting better and better! Each installment is five star worthy!

Pretty exciting installment! I really loved the D&D-style fantasy adventures of Blue and the shocking revelation. The adventures of Jack in Hollywood felt a little flat in comparison, but still a great volume.

Little Boy Blue's attempt to stop the Adversary - and the revelation of the Adversary's identity - is quite engaging, following up threads that were sewn as far back as Volume 4. Naturally, after this point, Willingham's story has to veer sharply away from its original course, but the mystery of the Adversary has been drawn out long enough, and it's time to move on to pastures new.

Loved all the back ground we now have regarding what happened back in the homeland. And I was totally shocked by the identity of the adversary.
Also after reading this set of issues I have a new respect for Boy Blue. We don't see enough of him in retellings.
