This one loses a bit of steam after awhile. Lots of people end up dead, loose threads that I'd wished, in the end, were tied. Oh well...

I enjoyed the espionage element, and even more, the setting in the Publishing world.

I'm between a 2 and a 3 with this one. This was a thriller about an unauthorized biography. Some people do NOT want the salacious secrets in this manuscript to see the light of day. Lots of murder ensues. There were a lot of characters in this book and especially on audio, I found them a little to hard to keep track of and wondered about their purpose. The themes around the publishing industry and its cut-throatedness were interesting. But overall, probably forgettable for me.

I honestly don't know how to rate this. There were parts I enjoyed, parts I didn't. Overall though, I must state that I emphatically did not like the way he wrote his female characters. They all felt the same to me. Blonde, skinny, with tragedy in their past. I wanted Isabel to have more depth at the very least. Regardless, not my favorite thriller.

More than a little predictable, and a lot less twisty than The Expats. I was a little disappointed, but I will still look to Mr. Pavone when in need of a good suspense read. The structure of the book is the strength, and the non-chronological timeline somewhat redeems the anti-climactic finish.

This was an easy and enjoyable read. The one day plot, with flashbacks, was well executed. Nothing seemed terribly gimmicky. It was good. I enjoyed this much more than Expats.

This book got off to an exciting start but I will agree with many reviewers that there were too many characters and it was much too predictable. Disappointing.
