However, it was extremely well written and Croft depicts the grief of moments and “what could have been” in a way that is almost more sad than if the person in question (no spoilers, dw) had actually died.
Coming from a 4 piece core family myself, with a sister, I related to a lot of the element ps of family life which Croft mentions and I think that was what made some parts so hard hitting.
I found the story of Amy particularly interesting, as I feel like people in her position, don’t usually get their stories heard. I found her work life pretty inspiring and she was an incredibly woman from what Croft wrote about her.
Overall I enjoyed about half of it, and the other half was just too damn heartbreaking to enjoy tbh.

also, throughout the book she disperses photographs along with a letter to her sister, spread out a couple sentences at a time, and it kind of bothered me because i was so focused on the main narrative that every time one of those fragments came up i couldnt remember what the previous one had been and it was just annoying to get pulled out of the story to try to figure out what she was talking about in the letter.
