I loved both Maddie and Theo in The Wedding Date, so I was super excited to see they had their own book. This only took me so long to read because of the time I spent in the hospital and the days afterward where I couldn’t read on my phone. It was a fun story with fun characters and banter. I especially liked the tiny Nikole and Carlos cameos, a.k.a. the couple from The Proposal. They’re iconic. As for this book, there were a few small things I didn’t like, the most noticeable being the occasionally cheesy dialogue, but it was still a lighthearted, mostly enjoyable read. I loved Alexa’s intervention after Maddie and Theo’s big fight. I hope to see more of these characters in Guillory’s other books, which I’ll probably read sometime soon.

Representation
- Black protagonist, love interest, and side characters
- Latine side character
Minor: Body shaming, Sexual content, and Medical content
Medical content is tagged because there’s a political rally about 2/3 through the book, and at the rally, a couple of protesters turn violent. This isn’t described in much detail. However, Theo gets a concussion from a protester and spends a few hours in the hospital. After he goes home, there’s more discussion about his concussion and how’s he’s doing.klavanger's review against another edition

I didn’t like this one as much as the other two in this series, but still enjoyed it! I had a little bit of a hard time understanding Theo and what his character was supposed to be. But still a very fun, and fast, rom-com!!

A total guilty-pleasure read. Fun, light hearted and thoroughly enjoyable! It’s diverse too, with an own voices author!

So. Much. Fun. With everything going on in the world, I needed a fun, fluffy read. The Wedding Party fit the bill. Maddie and Theo dislike each other until one night of sexy time. They plan to end things after their mutual friend Alexa's wedding. But as they spend more time together, they both begin to doubt the plan. As usual, issues occur and fun ensues. Read if you enjoy: open door romance, contemporary romance, characters learning about themselves, San Francisco settings
