I really like this book. I don't understand why most people despise this book sm. I think that this book is an easy read, the book that you don't have to think too much while reading it and it is a fun book. I love the heroin even though a lot of people hated her. I feel like she's savage yea she can be a bit mean sometimes but I think she is the type of person who still has trust issues and is afraid of love, I can relate to that. I feel like she forces herself to act powerfully until she feels powerful. YK fake it till u make it.

I can relate so much to the heroin. They say she thinks and the way she acts. But I feel like every character should have a vulnerable side as well. I feel like the author didn't put that out and that makes the heroin look selfish and arrogant.

The detail about the dresses... I'm living for ittt.. I love it but I would love to see any fanart that emphasizes the dresses because I really wanna see it visuallyyy.

The only downside of the book is that the ending is a bit rush for me. Just when I thought that everything is going to be great since the book is almost finished (literally only a few pages left) then suddenly Alexandra was thrown out of that palace.. like what??? And also there is no world-building at all.. it's hard for me to imagine how everything is.

So that is all.. I love it but it could use some improvement.

Listen!!! Was this book perfect in any shape or form? No.
But good god, did I enjoy the hell out of this story.

I just love me a character who is unlikeable as hell but that I still find myself rooting for.
I'm seriously surprised she didn't kill more people along the way.

The feminist/sex positive messages of the book was a bit on the nose most times but I didn't care.

I just loved these characters so much and the different friendships we got.
And I was just eating up the relationship in the story. I just LOVE knowing that shit will hit the fan and still be in pain as soon as it happens. I think it wrapped up too quickly but listen, I went in to this book for a good time and that's exactly what I got.

And to be completely honest the reveals at the end of the book, the solving of the mystery, I saw nothing about this coming.

I'll be honest, this book was a guilty pleasure lol. Not for adult content or anything but just a fun read.

Hmmm, I have mixed feelings.
On one hand it was great, I loved the romance, female empowerment, intrigue, and especially seeing the change of heart that Alessandra went through. And the book was overflowing with details about gorgeous dresses, which surprised me in a good way. Overall, I loved the idea behind the story, but it didn't quite work.
I think the pacing was a bit off, and that messed up the whole story. The plot kind of dragged the first 3/4, and then all the sudden big things happened crammed into a few chapters, and it felt too rushed. The world building wasn't very good either, it was hard to imagine as a real court and kingdom.
So I think a 3 is a little generous, and that this book is overrated. I didn't absolutely hate it, just a little disappointed because I liked the author's other books better...
