The most heartwarming manga ever! I feel like all cat owners (or lovers) should read this, it's totally relatable. I teared up sometimes as it is sad in places, but it's funny too. The relationship between Kanda and Fukumaru is so lovely, and I also enjoyed seeing the few tidbits of backstory for some side characters, and it made me care about them a lot more. I wish I could adopt every cat in existence. 😔

This was such a lovely story! I was crying within the first three pages because I am such a sucker for cat adoption stories.
I also am looking forward to the rest of the books in the series, as this first book set up a lot of questions about our MC’s backstory and friends!
This is not a super “deep” or fast-paced story, thus far, but an easy, short read and very enjoyable all the same.

After hearing rave reviews about this manga, I was delighted to find a copy in my local library. It's so exciting to see an actual printed manga in real life!
A cat has been sitting in a pet store, unwanted and unadopted, for months. He's not even a kitten anymore. Nobody wants to take him - they always want the other, cuter cats. Will the cat ever find a home? But one day, a middle-aged man walks up and asks to adopt this strange cat! After all, before his wife passed away, she always said she'd love to have a cat. Could this be the start of something wonderful for both the man and the cat...?
With this deceptively simple premise, A Man and His Cat takes us on an adorable, heartbreaking, heartwarming journey: even after a terrible loss, the healing powers of love and care know no bounds.
