Lovely the see the beginnings of To Kill A Mockingbird echoed in the true if condensed stories of Nelle Lee and Truman Capote plus some short stories in the back.

I will read their books too at one point <3

Sebenernya momennya salah baca buku ini. Bukannya terhibur malah jadi sedih. Tapi rasanya menyenangkan bisa punya teman yang benar-benar ada untukmu dan mau berpetualang bersamamu

More like 3.5 stars for me. I find it so fascinating that Harper Lee and Truman Capote knew each other as kids. It is historical fiction and I would love to know how much is truly accurate.

Tru and Nelle by G. Neri takes place in the South in the 1930s during the Great Depression. It is a fictionalized story of Tru, also known as the writer Truman Capote, and Nelle, also known as the writer Harper Lee, and their childhood friendship.

Not a fan of this one. The pacing was all over the place and the story, what there was of it, was dull and not engaging. The interest of the book lies in the fact that it's based on the real life friendship of Truman Capote and Harper Lee. I am intrigued by that, but I wish this had been more factual and written as a biography. I've read To Kill a Mockingbird, and I recognized the parallels, and I was still slogging through. For the target audience, who will likely not have read or maybe even heard of these two authors, there's very little (I feel) to hold their attention. Maybe my middle school book group will think differently, but I did not enjoy this.

Kutak menyangka kalau dua penulis besar (dan sangat menyesal belum membaca buku mereka) sebenarnya bertetangga. Kisah masa kecil mereka sangat seru dan menyenangkan. Menjadi Holmes, Watson, dan Lestrade kecil terlihat asyik.
