This is probably my new favourite book. It had me giggling and laughing out loud and very much reminded me of The Hitchhiker's Guide to  the Galaxy humour-wise, but was much deeper than that and made me question societal / social constructs and human behavour. It was simple and genius at the same time. I loved everything about this book.

I never thought I'd be reading a book about an alien since I hate them. But this story had so much heart. Haig's books always make me stop and think of my own existence. I think he reflects a lot on his past experiences through his characters and dialogue. The narrator's observations on human life were so interesting and funny. Haig was making fun of us but also showing us the best and worst things about humanity. It was brilliant.

I always appreciate a story that forces me to step outside myself and consider things from a different perspective. I can’t speak to any of the factual accuracies in this story as math has this weird ability to make me cry if I’m forced to consider it for more than a moment but the story was entertaining and I especially loved bearing witness to the internal struggle the main character faced, it reminded me of a tv show on SyFy called Resident Alien, and also a bit of The Giver although I can’t place why.
