Love my dark history. I read this, of course, bc my interest in dark shit and medieval history, but also LPOTL's series, which is pretty much straight up taken from this book (they admit as much.)

Anyway, super readable and interesting! Worthy part of your library!

I learned a lot from this book but I find it hard to give it a good rating. You get a sense of the impact of what happened with the Black Death and its explanations. I just found too much detail in this book about the hygienic and practices that made the story too vivid for me.

Very interesting given the current COVID situation. Human nature hasn't really changed that much since the 1400's. Conspiracy theories, misinformation, and the mistrust of the government is still the same.
